just the beginning:
I keep bouncing between saying “I can’t believe it’s only been two months” and “I can’t believe it’s already been two months.”

This experience is like nothing I’ve ever done before. The days are long but the weeks fly by. I’m not sure if that makes sense. So here’s kind of how our weeks look:
Monday is a sabbath day, meaning we rest. How glorious. This is one of my favorite days of the week because we get to be so intentional with our alone time with the Lord. We also fast until 6pm. This was hard at first, but now I actually love it. At 11am, we have intercession and prayer for an hour. This looks different every time, but essentially we spend this time in prayer for the community, the island, and specific things. We end this hour taking communion together. Again, this is just one reason why this is my favorite day. After this, we usually do a grocery run for the week and come back o spend more time with quietness with God. Sometimes I go for a walk or run, or I just journal. Then at 6pm, we break our fast with Shabbat dinner as a house. We talk about what the Lord spoke to us during the day or what he’s teaching us. This time is so intentional, and one of the only times we all sit down for dinner together and just share our hearts. The rest of the night is usually spent watching a movie or spending time together.
Tuesdays we start at 8:30am in group devotional. This is one of my favorite things. We all sit at the table together and go over scripture, observation, and application, ending with prayer. Then we head into preparing for our day. We have evangelism, where we head to universities to meet people and get to tell them about Jesus. It’s all about building relationships. Tuesday nights we either have Crew which is like church but we host it at a coffee shop because it’s more inviting for people here who don’t go to church and it’s just a fun place to hangout. If we don’t have Crew, we have a community night where we usually play volleyball and just hangout with the people and build the community around us.
Wednesdays start out the same, but at night we usually don’t have anything which is nice because it leaves room for us to join in on other things that people have going on.
Thursdays are long but so good! Our whole house wakes up at 5:45am to workout at the gym. We have devotional at 8:15am and then we have Master Class and bible class. Both are done over zoom, but it’s so cool because we have teachers from all over come on. For the master class, it’s practical ministry teaching, so one time we learned about how to create a successful business with a biblical foundation and another time we learned about how to transition seasons well. For the bible class, we are going through John! After these, we have pilot class, which for me is meeting with the social media team and spending time creating content and editing for a couple hours at a coffee shop (which is my love language lol). Then we either have prayer night, or something community related at night.
Fridays are free days, and honestly I’ve spent them so many different ways. But my favorite is going to the beach and just relaxing!
Saturdays, are also free but I wake up early to go to run club. We have Run With Christ here and it’s always a good way to start the day. Sometimes we run along the beach and end with a dip. Then the rest of the day is free to just hangout I usually end up at a friend’s house watching football lol.
Sundays are filled with church! But we alternate. One Sunday we have two services. We start in Ponce which is a bit of a drive, we set up, serve, tear down. And then we head back to San Juan, set up, serve, tear down. Our day starts at 6am and ends around 10pm. But I love it. It’s long but man this church is amazing. And we’ve been getting dinner with people from church after the night service, which is such a highlight for me. The next Sunday, we have home church which is called Zafra. We have groups that meet at different places and we essentially have small group services. I love my Zafra so much and after our group, we normally spend the whole day together, getting food, going to the beach, exploring and watching sunset. This is one of my favorite day. This is a picture of one of those days:

so yeah, life here is busy, hectic and can be overwhelming at times. But the Lord is moving and shaping me every day. So thankful for the potter, the vine, and the good shepherd.
